Nicolas Formichetti’s #DIESELTRIBUTE Collection 1

Nicolas Formichetti, creative director of DIESEL, has designed a capsule collection looking back at the cult denim brand’s identity. Publicity for the launch has been entrusted to SHOWstudio, Nick Knight’s pioneering website.

Creative director at Diesel since April, Nicolas Formichetti has designed a capsule collection in homage to the brand’s history. Named #DIESELTRIBUTE, the collection contains 45 pieces of both men’s and womenswear, and is formed of two lines, one for each of the fabrics that have built the brand’s reputation: denim and leather. Nicolas Formichetti explored the Diesel archives in the brand’s Italian hometown of Breganze for inspiration creating a hand-made collection of unique pieces playing on raw and faded fabrics. The revisited denim range includes reinterpretations of jackets and the famous western shirt, as well as pieces embroidered with patches collected from the brand’s past. As with the rest of the brand’s forays into digital innovation, Nicolas Formichetti left the promotion of #DIESELTRIBUTE to SHOWstudio, a website created by Nick Knight, which has devised a campaign shot on iPhone entirely inspired by social networks
