Rag & Bone Spring/Summer 2016 New York

Rag & Bone Men’s RTW Spring 2016

Many designers during New York Fashion Week: Men’s have cited a sense of movement within their spring collections, but that catchphrase took on new meaning at Rag & Bone.

Comanaging partners Marcus Wainwright and David Neville chose to once again step outside the box to show their strong spring line, creating a film that featured parkour athletes pulling off dramatic feats like jumping off buildings in a single bound while wearing the clothes.

A presentation featured the lineup in a more easily viewable manner — on mannequins — while the film played in the background.

The duo styled the line in a “bike messenger way,” offering up bombers and lightweight nylon rucksacks, military-inspired parkas, cargo pants and a variety of cotton twill track pants. Their heritage in British tailoring was also evident in the cotton-linen blazers and classic field jackets.

Rag & Bone’s ability to seamlessly move between the two worlds is one of the brand’s strengths, and although the film could have created a distraction for another brand, Wainwright and Neville’s message is powerful enough to shine through loud and clear.
