N.Hoolywood Spring/Summer 2016 New York

N.Hoolywood Men’s RTW Spring 2016

So far there’s been no shortage of bomber jackets, jogger pants and anoraks on the New York runways and although N.Hoolywood designer Daisuke Obana offered up these active-influenced items, his take on the pieces felt less conventional. He achieved this by utilizing fluid fabrics, painterly abstract prints and typography from Tokyo-based calligrapher Mikitype.

Obana’s anorak had a high, slightly draped neck and was free from any zippers or fasteners. His jogger pant was made from suit material and styled with a relaxed, matching blazer. Bomber jackets, sweatshirts and hoodies were embellished with Mikitype’s calligraphy, which straddles nicely a line between romantic and street.

Other hits included the loose T-shirts with triangular seams near the chest and the minimal trenchcoats without any buttons, which are meant to be pulled over the head similar to an anorak.
