Les Benjamins Fall/Winter 2016 Milan

Naming his collection “Ottoman Punk,” Bunyamin Aydin wanted to focus on the convergence of East and West.

This meant streetwear staples, such as oversized track pants, bombers and t-shirts decorated with opulent patterns and embroideries inspired by the Turkish artistic tradition.

The designer also adorned a range of pieces, including tunics layered over matching leggings, with bold, irreverent images from the traditional iconography reworked with the addition of details referring today’s culture, such as a Moorish man with piercings and a cigarette between his lips.
