Loewe Fall/Winter 2016 Paris

In the supersize sweepstakes this fall men’s season has become, Jonathan Anderson has surely secured the prize for the biggest backpack. The scale of a bar fridge, it sags under the weight of the Army green calf leather.

The designer produced an eccentric and eclectic collection for Loewe with military overtones and accents of punk. Consider his tank top and overcoat made of loosely knotted silicone tubes to approximate barbed wire — strictly for photo shoots.

A striped blue shirt, about the most normal garment hanging at the Spanish firm’s Paris showroom, came riddled with small holes, as if burnt with Virginia Slims. Cargo pants were a key element.

Rustic textures were the common thread, while punk energy came through in hand-painted biker jackets and Army boots.
