3 Unexpected Fashion Items Making A Comeback

Old fashion trends are constantly on the verge of making a comeback. The sweaters your grandfather wore are once again a style item. Ripped jeans came back (if they ever truly went away). Wearing suspenders was once a no-no but is now a fashion statement of note.

But sometimes truly unexpected items come back into fashion (or on the scene for the first time). These are 3 fashion items making a comeback that you can add to your wardrobe right now.

1. Military jackets

Military fashion has never truly disappeared but it definitely stopped being chic. We all know the type of man who wears military jackets and cargo pants, and it’s not someone who cares for fashion. Well, until now.

A military jacket, done well, can be very fashionable and men are starting to notice. Of course, you have to wear it differently to how your trail-running neighbor does. Wear it with a pair of skinny jeans and it immediately makes a statement. The contrast is unexpected and really works.

2. Pajama chic

This is a new take on something that’s been around forever. Pajama chic is not the same as wearing pajamas out. The concept is either daytime styles made from pajama fabrics, or pajama styles with daytime fabrics. You have to rock it with confidence, as if you look at all like you’re having an off-day, people with think you didn’t bother to get dressed.

3. Crop tops

Crop tops for men have never totally taken off. Understandably. It’s difficult enough for women to pull them off, having to stay slim and tan and toned in order to look good in one. Men have to shave or wax, keep a good figure, and be brave enough to make a major statement.

But now crop tops are taking off in a new way. It’s becoming more common for men to wear crop tops with a plain white tee underneath. This is a great way to make a statement without having to spend every day at the gym or shaving the stubble from your stomach.

4. Sneakers

Like the aforementioned military jacket, scuffed sneakers are a staple of the heterosexual man’s closet, and haven’t typically been rocked by those sporting fashionable looks. But men are starting to acknowledge that, when worn with a stylish outfit, scuffed sneakers can accentuate the look rather than bringing it down.

We take a closer look at the New Balance M1500 Made in England ‘Gentleman’s Pack’, online now. Using full leather uppers in a range of considered hues ranging from light tan to dark brown to racing green, each shoe features leather lined inners and all the signature decals of the OG design such as the M1500 callout, ENCAP soleunit and embroidered ‘small N’ branding to the side panel. http://www.endclothing.co.uk/brands/new-balance

Just don’t wear shoes that are past their expiry date. There’s a difference between scuffed sneakers and worn out sneakers. All Stars can look good dirty but will look absolutely awful if the sole is coming off!

5. Tank tops

Tank tops have always had a weird place in men’s fashion. They were popular in the ‘80s, before becoming a staple of jocks who want to show their muscles rather than fashion. They’re also very popular among gay men who know that they deserve the right to flaunt what they’ve got.

But tank tops are making a comeback in the fashion world. Just not the beach type. Wearing a sweater with the sleeves ripped off can level up an outfit with a simple pair of ripped skinny jeans. Also becoming popular are tops that aren’t quite sleeveless but still offer very little arm coverage.
