“Lost in Translation” – Photography by Nir Slakman

First trip to Japan for Tel-Aviv based photographer Nir Slakman, in “Lost in Translation” you will find the experience together in a shooting with Japanese actor and instagram celebrity Kosei Kudo.

For Nir was huge experience having this session with a local, Kosei Kudo doesn’t speak English at all.

So basically they connect through the lens of Slakman.

I based the title of this story with 2003 romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Sofia Coppola “Lost in Translation.”

“I wanted to shoot something with some locals; its quite hard to communicate there ’cause most of the people don’t speak English” admit Nir via email.

We have known the work of Nir Slakman since 2014, and we always dig for some more:

Losing our minds with new work: Michael Lahav by Nir Slakman

I found Kosei on Instagram, he is an actor and amazing boy! He wears all of these perfect vintage clothing and we did it in Shinjuku which is the most crowded and busy area in Tokyo.

With 41.9K followers on Insta, the young man actor is posing in front of the lens outdoors in is one of the 23 city wards of Tokyo, but the name commonly refers to just the large entertainment, business and shopping area.
