Bottega Veneta Men & Women Fall/Winter 2019 Milan

Exquisite fashion show Bottega Veneta Men & Women Fall Winter 2019 Milan. First runway collection under the creative direction of recently appointed designer Daniel Lee, who hails from Céline.

At Palazzo Archinto, for his first collection at the head of Bottega Veneta Daniel Lee showed a razor-sharp, almost futuristic collection, reinterpreting the house’s Intrecciato weave.

We are smitten with the elevated details and energetic silhouettes.

I appreciate the collection’s focus and how many of the key pieces have one strong focal point. It’s minimal, but on point.

An exercise bringing a sharp injection of modernity to Bottega Veneta’s traditional technique, turning up the volume with a new identity with leather and the house’s Intrecciato weave is reinterpreted and evolved.

Bottega Veneta is about fluidity, natural colors and a relaxed, composed attitude. I don’t like this… Too much volumes and a persistent rigidity.

Admittedly I never think of Bottega as a fashion brand per se, it’s only their bags that I think of… It would be interesting to see how this all translates at the retail level. Runway is fantasy with a small dose of reality, but it’s really hard to judge how well this will sell!
