British actor Theo James, known for his captivating roles in “The Gentlemen” and the upcoming Apple TV+ thriller “Presumed Innocent,” graces the pages of Vogue Greece’s June 2024 issue.

Photographed by the talented Rowan Papier, James showcases his connection to his Greek heritage, offering a glimpse into the man behind the charismatic on-screen presence.
With a name like Theodore Peter James Kinnaird Taptiklis, there’s no denying the actor’s Greek roots. Born to a Greek father and Scottish mother, James has embraced his multicultural background and has become a vocal supporter of refugees’ rights.
He even serves as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), drawing inspiration from his grandfather’s experience as a refugee.
In a recent interview with Vlasios Kostoros, James praised Greece’s compassionate approach to the refugee crisis while expressing disappointment in his home country’s policies.
“I’m not at all proud of the way the UK has handled refugee issues,” he shared. “My Greek heritage and my family’s history make this cause extremely personal for me.”
Reflecting on his role in “The Gentlemen,” James couldn’t hide his enthusiasm for working with acclaimed director Guy Ritchie. Describing Ritchie as a complex yet inspiring figure, James adapted to Ritchie’s unique working style, a departure from his formal training at the Old Vic Theatre.
As Theo James continues to build an impressive body of work, fans can look forward to his gripping performance in “Presumed Innocent” and his unwavering dedication to his craft, as well as his humanitarian causes.
