KENZO runway during défilé Paris Fashion Week Womenswear/Menswear Collections A/W 2017-18 show.

After the hysteria of the H&M x Balmain collection last year, the Swedish giant has chosen Kenzo for this season’s collaboration.

Like all good nights spent sweat-drenched by strobe light, there was so much going on at this Kenzo show that recalling all of it afterwards, even as you stumbled euphoric out the door into the glare of morning sunshine, represented a challenge.

The aftermath of the Paris attacks has been an undercurrent of the Paris men’s shows this season, and it was felt again on Saturday morning at Humberto Leon and Carol Lim’s uplifting display for Kenzo.

Guests who trekked across the concrete plains of northern Paris to the Kenzo show were hoping to find an oasis.
