A.P.C. Fall/Winter 2016 Paris

Jean Touitou translated his interpretation of Britishness into a vision for his fall 2016 men’s collection. Taken literally, this could be seen in the use of a range of checks and a greater profusion of color than is usually his wont, especially red. “It’s about self-contained eccentricity,” Touitou said, explaining that he wanted to create clothes that could be worn to the office without their wearer having to put his personality and tastes aside.

The Oxford coat, one of the brand’s staples, was developed in a range of shades, including in crimson wool or a black-and-white check, while outsize tartan was used for a chunky cardigan with an androgynous feel. Touitou did not neglect to bring back high waistlines on pants for his buttoned-up (yet eccentric) Brit. Burgundy pajama-style pants were given a paisley print but, while pretty, they would take some guts to wear to work.
