Rebellious British dark matter menswear brand Ada + Nik closed the first day of London Collections: Men with their heroic Spring Summer 2015 runway show ‘Carpe Noctem’.
In less than a year, London’s first noir menswear duo Ada + Nik, by Ada Zanditon and Nik Thakkar, has become the most talked about new brand in modern times with celebrity endorsement from names including Miley Cyrus.
The show was packed to capacity with a front row of the leading fashion tastemakers including Miles Aldridge, Chris Mears, Ella Catliff, Oliver Walker andElarica Gallacher. An outstanding cast of male models strode down the catwalk including a set of highly talked about Identical long-haired twins – resulting in the most talked about final line up of the day.
Having entered the world to critical acclaim at LC:M in June 2013, Ada + Nik has been described as “the most refreshing new menswear line to emerge in recent years”, “ones to watch” and “the future of menswear”. Co-created by two established industry influencers and tastemakers with a combined 15 years of experience, the SS15 collection ‘Carpe Noctem’ features over 60 pieces including signature, structural outerwear combining high quality Italian leather with innovative high performance lightweight luxury fabrics including up-cycled showerproof trench, hydrophobic cotton with a high performance silver wash and breathable antibacterial sneaker-net.
Shapes include geometrically cut dark matter separates, oversized T-Shirts, swimwear and tailored shorts and trousers.
Ada + Nik has also created a capsule line of commercial noir eyewear in collaboration with artisanal eyewear brand, Toyshades and a unique leather jacket in collaboration with NJOY premium e-cigarettes featuring a tailored NJOY pocket.
The unveiling was synchronised with the premiere of the short art-house brand film ‘Carpe Noctem’ by Oz Thakkar and Ada + Nik, starring actors Oliver Walker (Atlantis) and Elarica Gallacher (Harry Potter) featuring Sam Alexander and Luca Ribezzo.
History was also made tonight when Ada + Nik partnered with collaborative real-time video app Vyclone to showcase the runway show in real-time from multiple angles uploaded to the brand’s social platforms. This world-first is another example of how Ada + Nik pioneers multi-platform creativity and marketing innovation. Taylor Kahan, VP of Los Angeles based digital marketing agency Crowdsurf said, “We wanted to work with Ada + Nik to bring this world-first to life as they are a brand that is unafraid of pushing boundaries and setting themselves apart through digital innovation.”
Guests also enjoyed monochrome cocktails by CIROC and smoked NJOY e-cigarettes whilst experiencing the collection, styled by Alexis Knox with model casting by Jay Best.
The ‘Carpe Noctem’ runway show from Ada + Nik at the St Martins Lane Hotel was sponsored by NJOY premium e-cigarettes, the world’s first fashion-forward social camera, theQ, Thompson London luxury jewellery, Fountain, the beauty molecule and inhibitif for Men.
The show also featured bags by luxury leather goods brand Mark Giusti and luxury footwear by Royaums – providing the ultimate in comfort for those who understand the language of luxury, withgrooming by AOFM.
