The idea of taking the iconic (and sentimental) ’70s indie film Rocky and transforming it into a big-budget Broadway musical seemed strange from the second we heard it. The show opened in New York in March of this year, and will be closing Aug. 17, but we’ll never forget those intense moments when Apollo Creed jabs Rocky Balboa in the ring at the Winter Garden.
