Inspired directly by “Big Bands” costumes “Fantasy” were very popular in 1944 the return to Romance,

costumes consisted of baggy pants, high waist and wide jacket. The heaviness of the 40s gave way to a

more festive and relaxed spirit in the next decade. People need to have fun and go out : rock stars will born

with their rebel tendency. Musical influences will surge and take a lot of importance on the Teddy boy

outfits and rockabilly. After the dark years of the war, men are in Fashion seduction and set out to conquer

women. President Eisenhower, opting for a less traditional dress during some speeches will have a very

significant influence on the cardigan look and the pants for men of this decade.

The spirit of the garment resume the progress in color in 1940, in Britain, although bombarded and very

busy, enjoyed a great activity in cinema : people and soldiers rushed into theaters to find some rest.
