Soulland Men’s RTW Fall 2016

Silas Adler staged his Soullandpresentation in the middle of Bloomsbury Square during a downpour. A stack of wrecked cars formed the backdrop for a collection inspired by an old car museum in a Georgian forest.

The vibe was hillbilly-meets-industrial as natural fibers clashed with technical ones. Terrific examples included a bonded wool melton coat with raw edges and a fleece lining; snakeskin-effect shirts made of nylon jacquard; striped track pants and tops in striped gray wool with fringed cuffs; and a whip-stitch leather shirt layered beneath a sleeveless striped one. “You can almost see it on an old fat guy driving a pickup truck in Texas,” Adler said with a laugh. Best suited to the meteorological conditions, though, was a weatherproof jacket with reflective motorway pinstripes — a Swedish-made collaboration with 66°North.
