Last fall, the Internet went crazy over a Swede named Konrad Annerud and his uncanny resemblance to a certain Oscar contender called Leonardo DiCaprio. (Vulture is convinced he’s a time-bending “looper.”) But viral fame can bring you more than just a huge spike in Instagram followers. It can lead to modeling gigs, too. Barneys New York hired Annerud for its Ralph Lauren Purple lookbook, which will debut online on Sunday. And since the doppelgänger isn’t signed with a modeling agency, the arrangement between him and the fashion retailer was coordinated on Instagram. In fact, Annerud is pursuing a solo music career and is reportedly signed with Universal. However, we have to say this modeling side hustle seems to be working well so far for the Leo look-alike.
