Recently spending four months in India, model Jordan Woods only met three Americans the entire time. The fact that one of those three happened to be iconic photographer Rick Day was an added bonus. So, when a rising model and photographer get together, they do what they do…make pictures!
Jordan learned through his agent that Day happened to be in Mumbai on other business. So, Jordan messaged him to network. They found a date between their busy work schedules. In fact, NYC-based Day was staying only 20 minutes away from Jordan’s Mumbai apartment. Jordan says Day loved the raw product in his portfolio at their meeting. What’s not to love?!?! So, they did an instant quick shoot.
Day, a native of Greenville, South Carolina, was on assignment for a job and didn’t have all his equipment, just a camera and accessories. But the instant shoot resulted in another photo session a few days later at Day’s hotel. Jordan says the shoot was performed “with the little that we had access to in his hotel room. It’s amazing,” continued Jordan, “the type of content you can create with two professionals and a limited amount of resources.” Nothing was planned in detail, it was just spontaneous. Jordan, who is based in Indiana in the USA, always knew one day he would shoot with Day. He just never dreamed it would be on a fortuitous occasion in India.
