It’s Raining Guys! Work by Alejandro Tomas

It’s Raining Guys!

Work by Alejandro Tomas featuring fresh faces from Spanish agencies Fashionart MGMT and Carmen Duran Agency.

We uses the theme of the weather to say that there are guys as abundant as rain.

And that is what is so great about it. It means let your cares away and have fun!

Showing new faces Alberto Ramírez (Carmen Duran Mgmt), Christian Pérez, Javi Belda, Jorge Llop, Adrian (Fashionandart Mgmt) Clement Kazadi.

Moreover, everything is as it should be; the rain too serves a purpose however unpleasant it may be to get caught in it.

How do I get a legit modeling agent?

The first step to getting a legit modeling agent is research.

Are you willing to move? If not, start with the agencies in your area, and do a simple web search to find what is there. If yes, search for the best agencies for your type of modeling (more info on that here).

Once you have some names to work with, I would next look at their better business bureau ratings, as well as Yelp and Facebook reviews.

If you google the agency itself, and google suggests “scam” as a possibility, you are probably not dealing with a very reputable agency!

Alberto Ramirez

Christian Pérez

An open call is when the agency opens itself up for new prospects to come in and be seen.

Things may have changed since I was signed, but how it used to be was that everyone gave their portfolio or comp card to the people at the desk, and sat in the waiting room while the agents looked at the images of all the prospective models.

Sometimes, polaroids or digitals were taken as well, for consideration of how the model looked in real life (without photoshop, professional makeup, and lighting).

Then the agent would call the names of the models they were interested in signing.

ONE Tip

If you are just outside of the guidelines of what an agency is looking for, it could potentially be worth going or submitting anyway.

Kate Moss is an example of someone who “on paper” should not be as successful as she is (because of her height, which is shorter than most models in fashion/runway).

Although she is somewhat of a unicorn in rarity, she is also proof that SOMETIMES an agency/the industry will make an exception to their rules.

Keep a positive attitude despite bad times

People often have a negative attitude towards rainy weather, and so they’re insisting  (“stormy weather”) and even if you have a roof over your head, “rip it off” because there’s no hope of finding the [right] partner for you if you stay in cosy circumstances.

If you stay at home, in the dry, you might just miss the chance of finding the [man / woman] of your dreams [outside in the real world].
