LAGARET Presents Violent Delights – Exclusive for Fashionably Male featuring Matt Billman and styled by On Mekahel.
The team in the story is great, cause it counts with the talent of On Mekahel, who’s a Instagram Celebrity and owner of M.O. Underwear brand, and beloved friend of Lagaret.
New York City witnessed the experimental work by Bill and we talk with the photographer to let people know what’s the story behind of this.
“I prefer to do editorials (stories) with some sort of direction. Steven Klein is also one of my idols and I love his work – his work heavily influences mine.”
Violent Delights
Violent Delights is inspired by the HBO show Westworld. “I’ve always been a fan of cowboys, robots and the future.”
The Drama Sci-Fi TV Series set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, explore a world in which every human appetite can be indulged without consequence.
For this work, model Matt Billman–a new revelation for us– Bill commented how excited he was about this collaboration “I love working with Matt, he’s been a great model, inspiration and now friend.”
Matt is a actor/model/personal trainer who was digging into this role very deeply, he puts so much efforts in the shooting.
For the photographer “Violent Delights is my first step into more of a story driven production. I really want to do more stories like this where its more high-art/fashion rather than mainstream-pretty/fashion.”
“I know its very different than whats being put out. I actually have snippets of images that I’ve been experimenting with models that show more of this style.”
Lagaret and NEW IG Accounts
If you are a Lagaretfan like us, have you wonder why he’s changed his IG account, well we asked him about that:
“I split the work a little to give them their own branding – my main account is a bit of a mess. When you go to POP, you’ll get only images that are “Crazy.Sexy.Fun. A pop of personality!” And same with Snapshot. Eventually the main account will have its own flow.”
And we asked him about what does Lagaret think about the guys who tried to be Instagram photographers?
And he said “Photography is every where now and everyone can be a “photographer” – not every one can be an artist. When you love what you do, it shows and people recognize it.”
Lagaret Does Not Feel Comparison with Others
It can be impossible to not feel comparison with others–specially when you working in arts.
For years since Art become such an important thing in our lives, has been comparison between Artists, something that can’t hide.
Lagaret assures “I’m okay with it – although, I try to put a spin on it. Lol.”
And that takes us to this, we asked him about what has been his worst experience in photography and he said “…Speaking in confidence with someone (that is in the industry) and seeing my ideas and concepts suddenly pop up with other photographers. Learned my lesson! Haha!”
“My best experience… Knowing that my work is seen by established professional photographers and that they follow me.”
