Givenchy Pre-Fall 2019

An abstract idea of mirrors informs the Pre-Fall 2019 for men’s collection by artistic director Clare Waight Keller.

Manifesting the notion of the Givenchy couple, the designer mirrors female and male in each other and cross-pollinates their gender characteristics.

As an example, the name alludes to the half-hidden nature of the lock, which aligns the clasp to form a 2G when closed, and which reveals a large plate where the bag is open.

Shot by Dario Catellani, drawing on the Greek myth of Icarus, the youth who donned wings of wax and feathers, soared too close to the sun and tumbled into the sea.
