Staying Fit While at Home: Tips and Tricks for Men

Only about 54% of men are likely to meet the physical activity guideline for aerobic activity, according to The Good Body.

While these figures are not bad per se, they could definitely be better. Given that 30.4% of adults in the U.S. aged 20 and older are obese, it is increasingly necessary to keep a strict watch on our lifestyle so you can stay healthy. With plenty of fitspo and male fitness idols out there, we have no excuse not to give it our all, whenever we can.

Considering the nature of the work environment, it may be difficult for the modern man to strike a balance between work and fitness. However, home workouts may be the 2019 trend that solve this problem once and for all.

The Rise of Home Workouts

Home cleaning service are gaining increasing popularity as the pace of life steadily increases. There are a number of reasons why this is the case. The most obvious one is the time factor: given most of our schedules, it may prove difficult to find an hour or two to dash to the gym on the way to the office or back home.

However, with a home-workout, it’s easy to be flexible, switching the length and time of your routine depending on your schedule. Another advantage is that you get to personally select the equipment suited to your physique. This is especially true of machines that need to support your weight. That being said, home workouts are pretty easy, provided you keep a few things in mind.

Consistency is Key

Perhaps the bigger challenge about working out at home is motivation. It is only too easy, in the absence of other people, to give in to laziness and cut your time short or not do it at all. The best remedy for this is to come up with a solid routine. The ideal way to go about this is to start off by setting a ‘bare-minimum’. This is essentially the least number of minutes and days you should exercise. You could decide a session should be at least 15 minutes and you should workout out at least thrice a week. Once you’ve committed to this, make sure you stick to it.

Seek Outside Help

One of the biggest mistakes that people make when they workout at home is that they don’t consult anyone else. While working out at home is essentially a do-it-yourself activity, it is important to seek some guidance from professionals from time to time to avoid injuries. This doesn’t have to come in the form of an expensive trainer, the internet is filled with free tutorials that will help you consciously work out all your muscle groups to the right degree.

In 2019, there is no excuse: your health should be a top priority and working out at home will make sure it remains so.
