Givenchy Spring/Summer 2020 Florence

Nouveau Glitch is Givenchy Spring/Summer 2020 Florence new collection designed by Clare Waight Keller at Pitti Uomo edition 96.

Clare Waight Keller – the British designer and artistic director of the LVMH group maison since spring 2017- will present the new menswear collection from the brand that is an icon of French elegance with a special event scheduled for June 12th 2019.

“It is a huge honor for us to host the runway debut of the Givenchy men’s collection under the creative direction of Clare Waight Keller” says Lapo Cianchi, Pitti Immagine’s director of communication and special events. “A strong, modern and elegant vision: it is the perfect project for Pitti Uomo. I am certain that the atmospheres and spaces of Florence will offer Givenchy further aesthetic and symbolic motivations for concentrating on men’s fashion”.

HISTORY IN A FEW WORDS

Hubert de Givenchy founded his namesake fashion house specializing in Haute Couture and ready-to-wear in 1952. No sooner did it open than Givenchy earned a reputation for breaking with the fashion codes of its time. Today, the house is synonymous with aristocratic elegance, sensuality and fresh romanticism. Its legacy continues through the modern approach of its British Artistic Director, Clare Waight Keller, who was appointed in 2017 to design all Haute Couture and Ready-to-Wear collections for Women’s and Men’s. With her debut show, on October 1st 2017, Clare Waight Keller established a forward-looking new signature for the house of Givenchy based on the idea of Light in darkness.

On May 19th, 2018, for her wedding to Prince Harry, Ms. Meghan Markle, now the Duchess of Sussex, wore an elegant Givenchy Haute Couture boatneck wedding gown in double white silk cady with a hand- embroidered veil, both custom designed by artistic director Clare Waight Keller.
