Z Zegna Menswear Fall 2021 Milan

Alessandro Sartori fused cutting-edge technicality and revisited sartorial elegance in his charming Z Zegna collection.

The luxurious comfort that artistic director Alessandro Sartori injected in his sophisticated Ermenegildo Zegna fall collection also permeated the Z Zegna lineup, which exuded refined, urban appeal.

Finding a balance between outdoor and indoor seems to be the new main focus of today’s designers, as emerged during Milan Men’s Fashion Week, and Sartori took up the challenge at Z Zegna by leveraging his tailoring expertise and Zegna’s textile experimentations.

Playing with hybrid silhouettes, Sartori showcased chic suits featuring boxy blazers with cardigan-like shoulders worn with soft pleated pants, while classic shirts were replaced by tops with shawl collars, which added a touch of romantic elegance to the collection.

Blankets inspired the max ponchos enriched with jacquard motifs of fractured rocks, while a sporty attitude was conveyed through zippered jackets made extra warm yet lightweight through cutting-edge padding solutions.

The color palette of tobacco, beige and different shades of grays, juxtaposed here and there with dabs of bright orange, contributed to the allure of the collection, where performance and technicality perfectly blended with a polished sartorial look.
