Jon Kortajarena Creates a Sustainable and Genderless Capsule Collection with Brand Ecoalf under the name Ecoalf by Jon Kortajarena.

Founded in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, its current president, Ecoalf boasts a retail network of 1,500 points of sale worldwide, including shops in Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin and Tokyo. In its 2021 financial year, the company's turnover amounted to 39 million euros and, looking to the future, it expects to increase this figure by 50%.

This new line is inspired by Lanzarote and made with materials that respond to sustainability criteria, as it is eco-designed so that the garments can be recycled and have a second life. 

A genderless, sporty and circular collection made with the highest-quality recycled and low-impact materials

The collection has saved more than 185 million of liters of water and 10.5 tonnes of CO2 eq. emissions.*

The Jon High-Top Sneakers are made with pineapple leaves, 100% recycled polyester laces, and a 30% recycled rubber sole. The Risco Long Sleeve T-shirt is made with TENCELLTM Lyocell, a low-impact material from wood which is compostable and biodegradable to fully revert back to nature at the end of its lifecycle.

The Tenesera T-Shirt with the claim Change Climate Change and the Santa T-Shirt with the claim Mother Nature Is My Nature are made with Ecoalf’s innovative recycled cotton to save more than 70,000 liters of water each one.*

In addition, the pieces have been made with recycled materials to reduce the environmental impact.

The line also offers accessories such as the Jon trainers, made from pineapple leaves and available for 169.90 euros, or the Sua cap, made from corn crop residues and recycled polyester and priced at 39.90 euros.

This is not the model’s first collaboration with a fashion brand. Kortajarena, who has been listed by Forbes as one of the 10 most influential models in the world and recognised by Vogue US as one of the “most important male models of all time”, has been the face of Tom Ford for a decade. He has also starred in campaigns for major brands such as Karl LagerfeldVersaceValentinoGiorgio ArmaniChanel, YSL, Gucci and Bulgari.
