JW Anderson Menswear Spring/Summer 2025 Milan

Titled “Real Sleep,” JW Anderson’s latest menswear collection for Spring/Summer 2025, showcased at Milan Fashion Week, invites us to curl up and indulge in a restful slumber. Fusing playful design with cozy comfort, the Irish designer has once again delivered an innovative and whimsical lineup that captivates the imagination.

Jonathan Anderson’s signature style is apparent throughout the collection, with his characteristic reworking of proportions and playful elements taking center stage. The garments are replete with quilted coats and padded silhouettes, bringing a new level of comfort to Anderson’s design repertoire. Whimsical knits feature prominently, demonstrating Anderson’s ability to combine warmth and charm in equal measure. Surreal touches, such as knee-grazing neckties and dollhouse minidresses, add an element of intrigue and playfulness, showcasing the designer’s unyielding creative vision.

In a bold move, Anderson introduces unexplored territories for knitwear, a long-standing staple in his designs. Intricate knitwear pieces depict brick houses and feature exaggerated volumes in fluorescent hues, breathing new life into this traditional craft. Unexpected details, such as deflated balloons and layers of integrated scarf accents, lend an air of eccentricity and excitement to the collection.

In a unique collaboration, Anderson also presents a capsule collection with Guinness, the famed Irish brewery founded by Arthur Guinness in 1759. This partnership further solidifies Anderson’s commitment to celebrating his Irish heritage and bringing together seemingly disparate worlds.

As we explore the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, we find ourselves wrapped in the comfort of a British knitwear-inspired home. This sensation is heightened by the presence of space cadets, their unconventional attire capturing our attention and curiosity. The designer’s intent is not to disorient but rather to invite us into a realm where the unexpected becomes the norm.

As we take in the whimsical and captivating designs, the collection notes encourage us to unwind and enjoy a pint of Guinness. With this innovative and cozy lineup, Jonathan Anderson continues to delight and inspire, pushing the boundaries of traditional menswear and inviting us all to indulge in the comfort and whimsy of his sartorial dreamscape.
