ECCO.kollektive x Craig Green SS25: A Fusion of Innovation and Heritage

British designer Craig Green has collaborated with ECCO.kollektive for the Spring/Summer 2025 season, focusing on innovative leather craftsmanship and material exploration. This partnership was unveiled during Green’s off-calendar show in London on June 5, 2024, where he presented a collection that seamlessly blended avant-garde aesthetics with functional design.

In this collaboration, Green reimagined ECCO’s archival ‘Joke’ shoe, a lace-up moccasin from the late 1970s. He infused it with his utilitarian design approach, incorporating ECCO’s advanced materials such as Apparition Leather®, a transparent yet pliable material, and ultra-thin leather reinforced with Dyneema®, known for its exceptional strength. This fusion resulted in footwear that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

The collection also featured articulated, layered jackets resembling wearable exoskeletons, showcasing Green’s meticulous process of deconstructing and reconstructing leather materials. These pieces exemplify a harmonious blend of texture, weight, and movement, pushing the boundaries of traditional leather craftsmanship.

An installation highlighting the ECCO.kollektive x Craig Green collaboration was showcased at Dover Street Market Paris from January 21 to February 6, 2025, offering an immersive experience into the collection’s innovative designs.

This partnership underscores ECCO.kollektive’s commitment to fostering creative exchanges between designers and manufacturers, resulting in collections that redefine the possibilities of leather in fashion.
