Photographer Roger Nguyen presents FINE ART FANTASIES

Photographer Roger Nguyen introduces FINE ART FANTASIES, his debut digital publishing project dedicated to the fine art of the male nude. Developed over more than 25 years of research, study, and image-making, the project reflects a singular artistic vision shaped by long-term engagement with form, light, and fantasy. Rather than releasing a traditional printed book, Nguyen chose a digital format to make the work accessible to a global audience while maintaining complete creative control.

Presented as three distinct digital volumes, FINE ART FANTASIES traces the evolution of Nguyen’s work from early studio explorations to richly layered contemporary compositions. The project is not conceived as disposable content, but as a collectible body of work—carefully edited, sequenced, and intended for repeated viewing.

Volume I — Foundations of Light and Shadow

Volume I focuses on Nguyen’s formative years, where he refined his use of chiaroscuro—the balance of light and shadow—using minimal studio setups. These images establish the visual language that underpins the entire project, emphasizing sculptural bodies, intimacy, and restraint. Model Cory anchors this volume, appearing in some of Nguyen’s most widely recognized images, including The Embrace and the Cory in Leather series, which together form a powerful and iconic triptych.

Volume II — Fitness, Fantasy, and the Idealized Form

Volume II presents an all-star showcase of fitness and art models captured at moments of peak physical presence. Mathew Gregg leads the volume in a vibrant summer fantasy pictorial that blends strength, color, and atmosphere. Kramer Evans appears in striking black-and-white figure studies and composed fantasy imagery that highlight balance and proportion. The volume also features Jakub Stefano, photographed at age 23 in a rare fashion-driven fantasy narrative that merges classical fine art with high-fashion sensibilities.

Volume III — Persona, Transformation, and Range

Volume III expands the scope of FINE ART FANTASIES through versatility and transformation. Morgan Ward, a chameleon in front of the camera, leads an eclectic group of amateur and professional models across themes that include fitness, fashion, fetish, and fine art. The volume also features Rick Dinihanian, who made history as the oldest cover model and centerfold in Playgirl magazine, alongside Chris Mercer, photographed in his first and only nude session, and veteran model Landon Long, whose classical poses emphasize form, symmetry, and control.

Editions and Collectibility

FINE ART FANTASIES is offered in Standard and Collector’s Editions. Standard Editions are optimized for high-definition on-screen viewing, while Collector’s Editions are formatted for desktop printing at 8.5 x 11 inches at 300 dpi, allowing collectors to experience the images as physical prints. Collector’s Editions also include extended page counts and additional imagery not available elsewhere.

Backers may also access a Behind-the-Scenes PDF, featuring supplementary images and written reflections from Nguyen that provide insight into the creative process behind each photoshoot.

Supporting Independent Fine Art Publishing

Currently available via Kickstarter, FINE ART FANTASIES represents an independent approach to fine art publishing—one that prioritizes artistic intent, direct support from collectors, and long-term visibility over mass production. With the campaign approaching its conclusion, Nguyen’s debut stands as a confident introduction to a body of work that is both personal and deliberately curated.

FINE ART FANTASIES is available now through Roger Nguyen’s Kickstarter campaign.

  1. I found this article about Roger Nguyen’s digital publishing project really interesting because it shows how fine art can evolve beyond traditional print into carefully curated digital volumes. The focus on light and shadow, long term research, and collectible presentation makes it clear this is meant to be viewed thoughtfully, not just scrolled past. When projects like this are released online instead of in newspapers or magazines, it also makes me think about how important reliable journalism and publishing still are. I once needed to sort out a subscription issue and had to check the contact details for the bismarck tribune customer service to get proper support. Whether it is fine art photography or local reporting, good publishing and accessible customer service both matter for readers who value quality content.
