For Fall/Winter 2026, Martin Andersson finds his muse in the ultimate icon of effortless masculinity: jazz legend Chet Baker — the original “Prince of Cool.”
As creative director of Theory menswear, Andersson revisited archival images of Baker in the 1950s, distilling that understated charisma into what he describes as “the perfect fall wardrobe for our New York guy.” The result? A collection that balances texture, technical precision, and relaxed elegance — all anchored in Theory’s signature quiet confidence.
A Study in Texture and Effortless Beauty
Eight years into redefining Theory menswear, Andersson continues expanding the brand’s visual language — pushing silhouette, volume, and material experimentation while maintaining a core promise: wearability.
“You shouldn’t have to think too much about a Theory garment,” Andersson explains. “You just throw it on and it makes you feel good. It makes you look good.”
This season, texture takes center stage:
- Chunky bouclé sweaters
- Soft corduroy trousers
- Lightweight quarter-zips
- Reversible shearling outerwear
- Yak knit cardigans and twinsets
- A water-resistant corduroy puffer
- A flight jacket in technical wool with removable shearling collar
It’s tactile, warm, and sophisticated — the kind of wardrobe that moves seamlessly from downtown coffee to late-night jazz club.

Technical Heritage, Refined
Though Fall 2026 leans into lifestyle refinement, Theory’s technical DNA remains intact.
Andersson reintroduces Motion Wool and Motion Nylon, while expanding into Motion Poplin — a machine-washable, temperature-regulating stretch fabric designed to resemble a classic dress shirt.
Technical highlights include:
- Single-breasted suit jacket
- Primaloft-filled parka
- Relaxed elastic-waist trousers
- Hidden placket shirt
- Shirt-jacket with lightweight fill
- Technical wool puffer in car coat silhouette
Performance meets polish — ideal for the modern man navigating city life with style and practicality.
A Denim Moment
Andersson also experiments with denim this season, introducing:
- Natural-wash straight-leg jeans
- Button-down overshirt
- Utility jacket
Clean. Minimal. Urban.
Introducing 2 Gansevoort: Disrupting Luxury
Fall 2026 also marks the launch of 2 Gansevoort, named after Theory’s studio address in New York’s Meatpacking District.
This elevated capsule includes:
- Baby yak knitwear
- Cashmere and wool outerwear
- Unlined, unstructured wool knit suit jacket
- Wide-leg pleated trousers
- Belted wool coat with throat latch
The mood? “New York at night — dressed and elegant, but with an ease to it.”
Unlike the higher-priced Atelier collection, 2 Gansevoort retails at the same price as the main line.
“We call it disrupting luxury,” Andersson says.
Accessible refinement. Modern tailoring. Jazz-era cool filtered through contemporary Manhattan energy.
Theory Fall/Winter 2026 proves that effortless style isn’t about excess — it’s about intention.
