There’s something undeniably magnetic about Cape Town—the raw collision of mountain, ocean, and light creates the perfect stage for fashion storytelling. For model and actor Adam Redford, this breathtaking location became the setting for one of his most physically demanding shoots to date.

Captured through the lens of Andreas Zitt, the editorial unfolds at sunrise, where beauty meets endurance in the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Beauty in the Extreme

Shooting at 6 a.m. is never easy—but stepping into freezing ocean water before the sun fully rises? That’s a different level of commitment.

“Shooting at 6am for sunrise in the freezing Atlantic Ocean was extremely challenging 😅… I was shivering for the rest of the day 🥶 but the shots came out beautifully.”
And beautifully they did.
The contrast between the model’s sculpted physique and the harsh, cold environment creates a powerful visual narrative—one that blends vulnerability with strength. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about presence, resilience, and pushing limits.

The Vision of Andreas Zitt
Known for his refined yet emotionally charged photography, Andreas Zitt once again delivers a cinematic experience. The composition feels almost elemental—earth, water, body, and breath merging into a singular moment.
Redford credits Zitt’s “stunning vision” as the force behind the shoot’s success, proving that great fashion imagery often comes from discomfort, patience, and trust between model and photographer.

Cold Exposure Meets Fashion
Interestingly, Redford isn’t new to extreme conditions. He incorporates daily cold exposure into his routine, but even he admitted this shoot pushed boundaries:

“Even though I do cold exposure every morning this was another level!”
To endure the freezing waters, breathwork became essential—turning survival into performance. It adds another layer to the editorial: wellness meets fashion, discipline meets desire.
Cape Town: The Ultimate Backdrop

Described by Redford as “my favourite place on the planet,” Cape Town continues to be a dream destination for fashion creatives. With its dramatic coastline and golden sunrise hues, it offers an unmatched natural set—raw, untamed, and cinematic.

When Reality Hits
Of course, not everything is as glamorous as it looks. Redford teases the final frames of the shoot, revealing the raw truth behind the polished images—shivering, exhaustion, and the human side of high-fashion storytelling.
And that’s exactly what makes this editorial compelling.
