In June, Los Angeles–based photographer Matt Alves shared a striking new portrait series featuring model and health coach Cooper Sharp. Although the Instagram post arrived without a caption, the photographs speak confidently for themselves.

Moving between crisp black-and-white portraits and warm, softly colored frames, Alves creates a study in contrast. Bright studio settings give way to deep shadows and dramatic rim lighting, while relaxed seated poses alternate with tightly composed close-ups. The occasional glimpse of a camera screen and the raw studio surroundings brings a spontaneous, behind-the-scenes quality to the series.

Sharp’s athletic physique is central to the imagery, but the photographs extend beyond a conventional fitness editorial. His expressions shift from playful and approachable to quiet and introspective, revealing a natural ease in front of the camera. Loose black trousers, a simple white shirt, and a vintage-inspired Harley-Davidson tank keep the styling understated, allowing form, movement, and light to take the lead.

Together, Alves and Sharp create a series that feels polished without losing its intimacy—a compelling set of contemporary portraits shaped by the effortless energy of Los Angeles.

Forget fancy basketball strategies because Basketball Random loves ruining perfect plans. Your players jump, tumble, and stretch in ways that would confuse any real coach. Every point brings a fresh surprise that keeps the action unpredictable. It’s impossible to know what will happen next, and that’s half the fun.
