Forget the perfectly organized What’s in My Bag? videos. During New York Fashion Week, we wanted something a little more spontaneous: open the bag and show us what you’re actually carrying.
From iPads and AirPods to books, grooming products, old-school cameras, crumpled receipts and packs of gum, these bags say almost as much about their owners as the clothes they’re wearing.
Balenciaga

A big black Balenciaga Le Rodeo means plenty of room for everything. Inside we found an iPad mini, Louis Vuitton umbrella, AirPods Pro, Big Little Truths, gum, work credentials, pens and loose cash.
Luxury on the outside; controlled chaos on the inside.
Bottega Veneta

The black Bottega Veneta Intrecciato zipped tote was basically a mobile office: a 13-inch iPad Pro, Apple Pencil Pro, iPhone, AirPods Max, Gucci wallet, Ray-Ban Meta case, charging cables, keys, medicine, hand gel and pistachios.
And tucked behind the iPad? A copy of Fashionably Male, naturally.
Gucci

Dinner essentials look a little different. Inside a black Gucci Brera crossbody: iPhone, Kindle, AirPods Pro, Louis Vuitton wallet, keys with an AirTag, Apple chargers, wired EarPods, Extra gum, Augustinus Bader lip balm and Aesop hand balm.
Compact bag. Surprisingly serious inventory.
LOEWE

We stopped one guy on the sidewalk in SoHo carrying a black LOEWE Amazona 180 XL. He opened it to reveal a silver iPad Air, iPhone, wallet, metallic cardholder, notebook and pencil, keys and AirTag, receipts, Ice Breakers, trail mix and AirPods in a black Prada case.
This one felt especially New York: tech, snacks and receipts from who knows where.
Louis Vuitton

The Louis Vuitton Walkaround Tote came with a particularly polished lineup: MacBook Pro, AirPods Max, LV wallet, Apica notebook, Pentel mechanical pencil, Nicholas Sparks’ Two by Two, Dior Le Baume and Baccarat Rouge 540.
Basically everything needed to disappear into a Manhattan coffee shop for a few hours.
Tom Ford

Then came the brown Tom Ford leather top-handle bag, with a slightly more analog personality.
Inside: Tom Ford lip balm, Playbills and theater tickets, Juicy Fruit, an old Canon PowerShot digital camera, a snack bar, cigarettes and a brass lighter. It felt less like a packing list and more like a snapshot of someone’s night in New York.
The takeaway? Men are carrying more than phones and wallets. Their bags have become tiny archives of their day—work, beauty, entertainment, technology, snacks and all the random things accumulated between one New York stop and the next.
