Christopher Kane, the label, was launched in 2006. It was begun almost immediately after Christopher Kane’s graduation from Central Saint Martins, capitalising on the success of his award winning MA collection that had already garnered much media attention.

The literal incorporation of motifs you see on the streets into clothes made to be worn on them is a path well beaten, most recently by Anya Hindmarch and Jeremy Scott. Today Christopher Kane followed this road too, but went at it in entirely his own direction.

Science-obsessed designer Christopher Kane donned his well-worn lab coat for a collection filled with molecular shapes, suture-like seams, and a shadowy pattern meant to resemble decaying matter.
