Men's fashion aficionados have gathered this week at Florence’s Pitti Uomo 91 fair for a first look at Fall 2017 and the big event on the calendar is Tim Coppens, who succeeds Raf Simons as guest designer.
Earlier this year, the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation contacted Raf Simons. They asked if he’d like to work with them on something. He said yes. That’s the shorthand version of the story behind the collection he presented at Pitti Immagine Uomo, perfectly chimed with a duo of Mapplethorpe exhibitions at LACMA and the Getty Museum, and the HBO documentary subtitled Look at the Pictures.
A change of scenery, a change of pace. The menswear designer invited by Pitti Immagine to stage a show in Florence for Spring 2017 is Gosha Rubchinskiy.
Pitti Uomo guest designer Juun.J gave his spirited fall collection a futuristic spin, sending out a gang of daredevils clad in embossed, heavy leather, felted wool and lots of shearling rendered in his signature pumped-up volumes.
Designer Jeremy Scott made his MOSCHINO a royalty kingdom fashion show at Pitti Uomo embodied Casanovas style on its Menswear Spring/Summer 2016 making an unique event. Embracing logos, graphics, art pop, cartoons and gentleman's old school patterns, Scott created a lineup not for the faint of heart. From sports jackets to sports career outfits, revolutionary a sport casanova whole look , Moschino’s spring/summer 2016 outing was an exercise in free expression.
For ZARA Studio Spring/Summer 2026, the message is clear: masculinity is fluid, styling is personal, and the future of menswear lies in the balance between structure and freedom.
