Hood by Air Spring/Summer 2015 New York

Taking to this season’s New York Fashion Week, creative menswear imprint Hood by Air continues with its avant-garde approach to design for 2015 spring/summer.Without shying away from experimentation, head designer Shayne Oliver presents a striking repertoire that melds together hip-hop and punk references in a futuristic stance. Button-up shirts see striking graphics — such as X-rays of cyborg’s internal organs — and are paired with frayed jeans, stretched and ripped in defiance. Per usual, androgynous styling is seen throughout, with nylon and PVC used to create see-through shorts, while the use of leather on vests, cut in promiscuous ways, are matched with denim jeans splattered with paint. Elsewhere, a selection of biker-inspired jackets embossed with the label’s bold initials continue the line’s rebellious theme. Rounding out each look with progressive neckwear options and an updated sneaker range, the streetwear-turned-high fashion label offers another  forward-thinking collection for the coming season. Enjoy the debut here and look for it at Hood by Air stockists next year.
