Antonio Marras Spring/Summer 2016 Milan

Maritime seems like an obvious theme for a summer collection, but Antonio Marras, armed with his signature arty, poetic touch, succeeded in creating something fresh and chic with his lineup.

Sea waves were recreated on a range of pieces, including a peacoat and a tailored blazer, with a patchwork of different fabrics, while knitted sweaters cut in loose, relaxed silhouettes featured striped patterns. These were paired with knee-length shorts or slightly flared, cropped pants with cuffs.

The nautical inspiration also met a military mood in a treated jersey jacket with utilitarian pockets, while an array of military green pieces were lightened up by inserts in a vibrant tropical pattern.
