Dirk Bikkembergs Fall/Winter 2016 Milan

The biker world-inspired collection at Dirk Bikkembergs’ show was naturally heavy on leather and denim. The bottoms were tight-fitted and often distressed, while tops loosened up via voluminous capes or — as in one instance — a retro-tinged fur coat in a rich chocolate hue. Elsewhere, tailored coats gelled well with compression tights, bridging the gap between sport and street-friendly dressing. The outerwear turned quickly tacky, though, via a series of sleeveless, full-body vests rendered in knit and leather.

If that weren’t bad enough, Bikkembergs’ evening proposal included a heavy biker overall, knee and shin pads included, matched with a bow tie and hooded nylon poncho.
