Christian Pellizzari Spring/Summer 2017 Milan

By Alessandra Turra

Venice and Venice Beach were the two cities that influenced Christian Pellizzari’s collection. References to the former emerged in the original outwear pieces inspired by the traditional uniforms worn by gondoliers. These came worked in a range of patterns from checks to micro graphics and were paired with slim pants, as well as relaxed joggers.

Bold floral prints bloomed on cotton shirts, short pants, as well as a red-and-black leather bomber, transporting a Californian surfer vibe. Bridging the contrasting spirits of the collection, Pellizzari employed floral brocades and jacquards — a tribute to the opulent Venetian style of the 18th century — for suits and tuxedo jackets.
