“I wanted to give a message of less hate and more love,” said creative director Milan Vukmirovic, referring to his spring collection for Ports 1961.
In keeping with his social media-oriented approach, he printed a maxi top with the hashtag #love. A more subtle expression of his romantic state of mind was evident in the floral embroideries and ruffles that embellished a range of tops, shirts and outerwear pieces. This served to balance the military appeal of cadet jackets, which also inspired the decorations of shirts worn with paper bag-waisted short pants.
For a more athletic attitude, Vukmirovic unveiled a capsule collection developed in collaboration with Everlast that featured shorts, T-shirts, hoodies and capes printed with the brand’s maxi logo. Although Nineties’ sporty references are emerging as a big trend this season, the capsule didn’t really match the overall mood of the lineup.
