Rombaut Spring/Summer 2017

We’ve come to expect an eco-friendly touch from Belgian brand Rombaut. Its last collection was all about footwear with an environmentalist touch. But the brand has seriously leveled up with its new SS17 line of sandals and footwear.

Rombaut drew inspiration from one of the greatest environmental spokespeople of our time: Bernie Sanders. And before you wonder how this translates onto a shoe, note that the brand was innovative enough to create a neon print featuring Sanders’ face directly stitched onto the footwear. Elsewhere in the collection, exotic materials like piñata (made from pineapple leaves) and flexible solar panels ensure the authenticity of the brand’s eco-friendly claims.

And to keep things extra au naturale, the brand showcases the collection in the middle of a sauna, along with a few choice pieces of swimwear and towels to round out the pool-ready footwear. It also debuted an incredible electro-mix from DJ Antonio Mingot, which you can stream below via Soundcloud.
