It has been an excellent year for the career of Andrés Sanjuan, the most sought after, the most searched on the internet, the most requested by major fashion brands, requested to work on the runways of Madrid Fashion Week and Cibeles.

Magazines in demand aodres Andrés like Client Magazine, Vogue Italia, ICON, Hercules Universal, Risbel Magazine posing in most iconic and aesthetics poses we could see.

models.com named him Models of the Week and features a work by photographer César Segarra and stylist Xavi Reyes, and we’re gonna include excerpts words from his interview.

Name: Andrés Sanjuan Villanueva

Agency: My mother agency is Sight Management Studio (Barcelona), Ford Models takes care of me in NYC, Elite in Milano.

Age: Just turned 20 years old last September 6th!

Height: 1,85m/6’1″

Instagram: @andres.sanjuan

Place of Origin: Born and raised in Madrid.

Ethnic Origin: Pure Spanish… Which actually means a big mix looking back in history.

Birthsign:I am a Virgo

How discovered: It was really unexpected, a new friend I met when I started going out at night was in the fashion world and thought I could do kind of good, she introduced me to photographer Javier Morán, who thought the same. We shot a few pictures, sent them to a few agencies and after a couple weeks I got signed.

Favorite things: I absolutely love getting lost in new places, isolated and remote islands like Nussa Tenggara in Indonesia or frenetic and mutant megacities like NYC. When travelling I find extremes fascinating.Things I love and try to do as often as possible are taking photographs, dancing in a club with my people, challenge my self training, mixing techno in my room dj set, drawing, driving off road…

What are you listening to at the moment? I believe best way to enjoy music is dancing to it, thats why I love techno music! I’ve been recently listening to Berlin’s young producer Saverio Celestri’s tracks, Northern Lights by Kate Boy drives me crazy, Stand High Patrol gets me in the right mood whenever I listen to them. Romanian microtechno artists such as Rhadoo and Raresh make my fly as well.

Favorite movie, tv show: American Horror Story and Black Mirror are my favourite shows. I’m not a film freak at all but Requiem for a Dream shocked me like no film ever did. I felt broken!

Favorite designer, fragrance or beauty product: I always love certain pieces from Yohji Yamamoto and Raf Simons shows. YSL classics could be essentials if you asked me. Nevertheless besides the obvious money barrier, I get my clothing from thrift stores most of the time, also traditional pieces from exotic countries and old cultures get my attention. My favourite piece at the moment are some baggy pants my father gave me handmade in a lost Iranian village.

What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling? I don’t like to to think about ‘what ifs’ at all… I’m gonna do the same anyways, which is studying either Architecture or Interior Design! Spaces have a huge impact in people’s lives and relationships, and of course in our only planet. Beauty, function and fighting climate change can and will be just one single unit!!!

What’s something uncool that you love anyway? Eating way too many chocolate chip cookies…

Favorite modeling experience so far? Shooting Italian Vogue with Steven Klein was a really interesting experience! Besides the great people involved, I enjoyed seeing how a huge production like that works, also the process to get the pictures was quite unusual… Long time hanging in a harness! Filming a spot for Carolina Herrera was so much fun too, 3 days filming around Barcelona with a super crew made it memorable.

What’s the best thing about your hometown/country? Coming back home makes Madrid feel amazing, my family, my friends, my house… It just feels so good to come back every once in a while.

Which brand would you really love to model for? I would love to shoot with Mert and Marcus, my dream work would be a worldwide fragrance campaign for a big fashion house. I must say Kai Z Feng and Peter Lindbergh’s work inspires me too!
