Lucky Blue smith could have been anything he wanted in life. His parents told him that, and for a while it was true. At first, he imagines life as a pro footballer, and then an Olympic athlete.

Later, a teenage Lucky Blue fancied himself an entertainment lawyer. “I don’t think I even really knew what a entertainment lawyers does,” he says, now baffled by the choice, “but I just liked the sound of it.”

International Man of Style: Lucky Blue Smith

“I was scouted really, really young,” he recalls. “We took a road trip to LA from Utah and I met my agent Mimi –who’s my agent now– and she signed me.”

He was 12 at this point, by the way, and while little of this interested the would-be entertainment lawyer (“I just wanted to go to the beach and hang out”), a few days later he found himself on his first shoot, for Vogue Japan.

The photographer was Hedi Slimane. “I had no clue who that was, and it was maybe the second time I’d ever even heard the word ‘Vogue’,” he says. “But looking back, I can’t believe I had the opportunity to shoot with Hedi at that age.”

This modern James Dean vibe but blonde

With his trademark blond hair, sapphire-blue eyes and lips that naturally fall into a gentle pout, he soon found himself one of the world’s most in-demand models. He has starred in campaign for Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Harrolds.

Walked runways for Fendi, Chanel and Ralph Lauren; and appeared in virtually every fashion publication you could imagine.
