HoHoHo….Holly Jolly Austin Scoggin stars in our 2018 PnV/Fashionably Male Christmas Exclusive Special. Lens master Lester Villarama captures Austin, with DT Model Management in LA, in a gorgeous holiday shoot to put even the Grinch in a festive spirit.  

 All-American hunk and overall good guy Austin has been a personal favorite since PnV launched in 2013 when Austin was fresh out of high school in Oregon. And who better to celebrate the holidays than with a man who always admits he’s a boy at heart. From his well-established love of Disney, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Aquaman, Pokemon, and video games, Austin captures the spirit of the inner child that emerges from many of us, especially at Christmas.

So tell us about Austin Scoggin at Christmas. Does your inner child come out? As a longtime fan, one of the first things I ever saw of you was a little video (think it was VINE) of you skateboarding on the LA coast shirtless in your Santa hat lol. Tell us about traditions you enjoy at Christmas with your loved ones.

I love Christmas and I always go home to Portland, Oregon. We have lots of fun family traditions like advent calendars, Christmas Bingo, Christmas Eve Dinner, and of course stockings from Santa. 

Career-wise, what have you been up to lately? Give us some recent modeling highlights.

This last year I shot a campaign for G by Guess, I shot for Desnudo Italia by Ty Chen, two editorials for Victor Magazine shot by Pat Supsiri and Doug Ordway. I also had the pleasure of working with companies like Adidas and Disney!

Since the last interview, you have signed with DT Model Management in LA. Tell us why you chose them.

David Todd is a great agent and DT is an agency that really cares about their models. I have known Ricardo, one of their bookers for years, whom I consider a friend and he is another reason I signed with them. 

I understand you’re now pursuing acting. Tell us about that…what are you doing to further this pursuit…classes, castings, etc. What made you decide to go into acting?   

Since I have been in LA there are so many opportunities to pursue and acting is just one that I am interested in. I have taken a few acting classes and have signed with a commercial agency.

You recently hosted a show called Maze Magic News. What was that all about?

I was asked to host Maze Magic News because of my knowledge and love of the game Magic the Gathering. MMN was a live streamed show on Twitch. 

Tell us what you did fun for summer vacation this year.

I started last summer off with a trip to Portland, Oregon. Then in June I went to Vegas and then camping in Texas for a week. In July I went on a Caribbean Cruise!!  I visited St. Thomas and St. Maarten. When I wasn’t traveling I’d spend my Mondays at the beach and my nights at Disney or playing miniature golf. 

Tell us what it’s like to work with Lester Villarama. You guys make some awesome images.

Lester is awesome and always has a great team with him. We had a lot of fun on our last shoot (Spring, 2018)! It was shot on Manhattan Beach with an athletic and California vibe. 

Given your love of Aquaman, are you excited about the forthcoming film (Dec 21, 2018)? I have to say, I was excited until I started seeing the previews.   It’s not what I envisioned. What say you? 

I’m excited! Jason Momoa is going to be a great Aquaman. As for the story, I        guess we’ll have to wait till the 21st!

You show a lot of Disney images on your social media. How many days in 2018 would you prognosticate that you spent at DisneyLand?

Well… Since I live in LA and have an annual pass, I’d say close to thirty, lol. It’s the happiest place on earth!

What can fans expect from you in 2019, Austin? Are you a New Years’ resolution kinda guy?

In 2019, I’m looking to explore new opportunities that this industry has to offer. I want to continue building relationships and growing my presence on social media. I am not so much a New Years’ resolution kind of guy. If I did have one, it might be to improve my selfie game.

“Nightmare before Christmas”, “Polar Express”, “Rise of the Guardians.” 

–Favorite Christmas garment (sweater, pajamas, tie, etc)?

Sweaters! 

–About when do you typically start listening to Christmas music and watching the Hallmark Channel?

After Thanksgiving! 

–When do you start your holiday shopping—early bird or last minute?

Early bird for sure! 

–Favorite holiday sweet treat? Holiday meal?
