The collection “The Crazy sewing machine and the sparkling Jana” is dedicated to Maria Lai. Maria Lai assembles, links, sews and knits pages, words and images weaving dialogues and plots.

Maria invites us to stay off common paths to discover old and new meanings, both universal and deeply personal.

Maria Lai is a Jana, a Sardinian fairy, she sews with golden threads and weaves at the loom framing crystals and precious gems. She holds in her hand light and shadow, she sews and binds us to fairytales, dreams and infinite.

Last season, Marras drew inspiration from Japan, and this time he decided to delve into the history of another island nation, one equally far from his own world: Great Britain, seen through a 1980s perspective, hovering between a post-punk mood and new romanticism.

“I was inspired by memories of a trip to London in my youth, and I blended that period’s wave of cheerful vitality with the ancient, primitive culture of my native Sardinia,” he told FashionNetwork.com backstage.

The men’s looks have a more everyday, easy-to-wear feel, with their baggy trousers and denim jackets. But the hoodie is cut from tweed cloth, and all the items are decorated and embroidered, like the flannel check shirt embellished with Swarovski crystals.
