Tom Zalac in Fire Island – Shots by Misha Bandaletov for fashionablymale.net
Croatian origins, 6’4 tall, this handsome young man comes to Fire Island Pines NY to gathered around (before quarantine) with Misha Bandaletov.
The New York times considers Fire Island Pines has provided both shelter and refuge to generations of gay men.
Tucked into a square mile of dunes and scrub pine here stand 700 or so houses, and in those houses lives a population that swells according to season from a smattering of full-time residents to as many as 3,000 soon after Memorial Day.
History is on people’s minds this season, as the Pines marks the 60th anniversary of its founding.
One thing I have presence is the beautiful men who occupied those houses are the focus of a new book titled “Fire Island Pines: Polaroids 1975-1983,” by the photographer Tom Bianchi.
