Gucci Cruise 2023 Puglia

Alessandro Michele staged his Gucci show in Apulia, sending 101 models on a circular runway around a stunning medieval castle, lit up by maps of antique constellations and shooting stars.

The fashion crowd may be jaded, accustomed to beautiful show locations around the world, but Alessandro Michele and his team outdid themselves in staging the Gucci Cosmogonie show here Monday evening, leaving guests marveling at the site of the 13th-century Castel del Monte in Italy lit up with images of antique constellation maps.

Just at sundown, against the backdrop of the historic Castel del Monte in Andria, Italy, Alessandro Michele debuted his latest collection for the House. A series of constellations illuminated the runway, progressing a narrative that traverses centuries, geographies, and languages.

Traversing decades through details, Alessandro Michele envisioned Gucci Cosmogonie as a magnificent and poetic fete of colors, silhouettes, and references, highlighting once more that there are no rules when it comes to dressing up. Optical patterns and plays on proportions, retro-inspired boots, transparencies and tailoring, and all-over sequins and crystals to illuminate looks. “I always make clothes shine, if I can,” said the Creative Director on his latest collection.

Debuting his latest collection for the House during the Gucci Cosmogonie fashion show, Alessandro Michele drew inspiration from myriad sources, weaving new storylines of elevated elegance into his narrative of continuous evolution.

Mystical encounters and mythological places – it is all written in the stars. In Gucci Cosmogonie, Alessandro Michele gathered elements that at first sight seem atomized and dispersed, but become an assembly of complicity – “a connective structure that lights up the darkness through the epiphany of a constellation.”

Constellations. A window to infinity and geometric perfection. A collector of quotations, an illumination of connections. Presenting Gucci Cosmogonie by Alessandro Michele.

Music direction by Giovanni Attili curated by Steve Mackey.
