Known for his role as Dex on ‘Fire Island’ in HULU, actor Zane Phillips is shot in black and white by Hadar Pitchon.
About 'Fire Island' A group of queer best friends gather in Fire Island Pines for their annual week of love and laughter, but a sudden change of events might make this their last summer in gay paradise.
This Denver-born actor has had a breakout year after playing wildly different characters in the hit series Legacies and the critically acclaimed film Fire Island. Whether clean-shaven or boasting a 70s-style pornstache, his popularity continues to grow, with 10,000 followers on Twitter and 120,000 on Instagram.
Phillips caught the acting bug during his junior year in high school in Fredericksburg, Texas, when the local theater did a production of Man of La Mancha. He later graduated from the musical theater program at Elon University.
During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, Phillips supported himself for a year by working remotely as a tutor.
He got the role of Dex after following and retweeting a Jane Austen reference at Fire Island creator Joel Kim Booster in 2019, after finding out that Booster was wanting to do an update on Austen’s Pride and Prejudice by setting it in gay-friendly Fire Island.
