Dolce & Gabbana Funds a Scholarship for LGBTQ+ Students

As a way of celebrating International Coming Out Day, the company announced a new scholarship partnership with Point Foundation. The foundation is the largest scholarship fund for LGBTQ+ students. Its rich history started in the early 2000s with just a few scholars and has grown to fund hundreds of students in the 2022-2023 school year.

Through scholarship awards, the foundation helps students achieve academic success despite barriers they may face. Scholars receive tuition assistance in addition to mentorship and community-building opportunities. This allows them to engage in their field of study by growing their leadership skills.

In order to increase opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth in the fashion world, Dolce & Gabbana is partnering with Point Foundation to provide a four-year scholarship in fashion or related fields. Applications open at the end of October and the recipient will be announced in June of next summer. These students will couple their unique perspectives with impressive academic skills to shape the fashion world of the future.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Line Featuring Queer Families

The DGFamily campaign features a range of families on its products, showing gay, lesbian, and straight couples with their children. The line includes handbags, children’s clothing and sleepwear, and backpacks.

The range complemented street art in major fashion cities around the world, from London to Milan to New York. Throughout the cities, eco-friendly graffiti depicted a diverse group of families. The company’s official website invites all families to submit family portraits to celebrate inclusivity as part of its commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.

Dolce & Gabbana’s founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have a history of supporting the LGBTQ+ community that continues through their products, campaigns and financial commitments.
