Moschino Menswear Spring 2025 Collection Milan

Creative Director Adrian Appiolaza unveiled his first menswear collection for Moschino at Milan Fashion Week, presenting a runway show that merged his personal narrative with the brand’s rich archival history and a commentary on the shifting attitudes towards corporate attire. Titled “Moschino Menswear Spring 2025,” the collection took the audience on a whimsical journey filled with playful, ironic takes on traditional menswear staples, as well as a celebration of personal identity and freedom.

Drawing from his own experience of feeling imprisoned by the confines of corporate dress codes in his previous career, Appiolaza channeled this sentiment into the collection’s theme. He found inspiration in a quote by the brand’s founder, Franco Moschino: “It’s better to dress as you wish than as you should.” This notion of prioritizing personal expression and breaking free from sartorial constraints became a guiding principle throughout the show.

The collection began with a series of ironic interpretations of corporate attire, featuring exaggerated silhouettes, unexpected proportions, and unconventional combinations. Appiolaza introduced the audience to his personal journey through the pieces, with references to his native Argentina, as well as his new creative home in Italy. Archival Moschino motifs were reimagined and integrated seamlessly into contemporary designs, demonstrating Appiolaza’s respect for the brand’s heritage.

As the show progressed, the narrative shifted towards the idea of self-discovery and transformation. The garments became more expressive, with vibrant colors, bold prints, and a juxtaposition of formal and casual elements. The collection celebrated individuality, encouraging wearers to embrace their unique styles and challenge traditional fashion norms.

Standout pieces included a lilac and pale turquoise menswear sarong printed with office supplies, an untied-tie shirt, and a heavy linen suit with a sleeve-skirt. These designs reflected the creative director’s vision of finding balance between personal expression and the constraints of the corporate world. The finale saw models walking around piles of lost luggage, symbolizing the transformative journey Appiolaza sought to portray through his designs.

The Moschino Menswear Spring 2025 collection showcased Appiolaza’s ability to combine personal storytelling with the brand’s history while addressing broader themes of identity and self-expression.

Through his ironic and playful approach to design, he successfully reimagined traditional menswear and encouraged wearers to embrace their authentic selves in a world often constrained by societal norms and expectations.
