Gran Canaria Swimwear Fashion Week 2024

Gran Canaria and IFEMA MADRID come together again to co-organize a new edition of Gran Canaria Swim Week 2024 by Moda Cálida.

During the Gran Canaria Swim Week, we will present the distinguished attributes of men’s swimsuits from renowned brands, including Palmas, designers Aurelia Gil, Diazar, and several others. We invite you to experience an exclusive collection meticulously crafted for men.

The runway shows will take place over four days, each featuring a diverse array of collections that represent both local and international swimwear trends. The opening day, October 2, at Pasito Blanco Marina will feature collections from designers such as Victoria Cimadevilla (Spain), Vän (Spain), Alexandra Miró (UK), Agatha Ruiz de la Prada (Spain), and Palmas (Gran Canaria, Spain). The outdoor setting of Pasito Blanco will provide a stunning backdrop for the opening event, showcasing the island’s natural beauty alongside cutting-edge swimwear fashion.

Please take a moment to relax and enjoy the event. Additionally, you can visit the official website to access a comprehensive list of all the scheduled events.

Cala 1789

The brand CALA 1789, created in 2010 by Damien Calamuso, offers coastal men’s fashion inspired by the Riviera. The brand evolves in this way through the MC COMPANY group. The success of the growing brand has led us to think that it is necessary and perfectly logical to expand our collections and launch new ranges of prêt-à-porter products for men. CALA is now a complete and refined collection of clothing models for men. Not only summer collections but also winter ones, allowing men to have a modern look in line with fashion and prêt-à-porter trends.

Collection
True to its identity, the CALA 1789 brand is distinguished by its values: timelessness, effortless simplicity, comfort, and elegance, all without sacrificing quality. “Celebration” is an exclusive line with which CALA redefines elegance for summer 2025. The collection is characterized by its emblematic pieces such as blazers, sophisticated double-breasted jackets, and shirts with convertible collars, perfect for any occasion. CALA also presents its beachwear line with exclusive patterns and innovative materials.

Agatha Ruiz de la Prada

This summer marks a new chapter. Agatha Ruiz de la Prada began working at the age of 20 in the studio of designer Pepe Rubio, and soon after presented her first collection at a fashion show in Madrid, becoming part of the ‘Movida Madrileña’.’ Since then, for more than 40 years, he has presented his collections twice a year at MBFWMADRID, followed by fashion shows in more than 50 cities around the world.
Its business model is fashion aimed at everyone, including children, but it doesn’t stop there.
that. He has applied his colourful world through licensing to products such as paints, playgrounds, doors, watches, medical uniforms, wallpaper, perfumes, furniture… practically any item needed in our daily lives. There is not a single person in Spain who has not had an Agatha Ruiz de la Prada product at some point in his or her life.
Her presence is felt all over the world: in Tokyo airports with notebooks and pencils,
in Mexico with bags and luggage, and it is omnipresent in Argentina and Chile with its perfumes.
It is a transversal business model, where it has achieved the difficult fusion of design and industry.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada is more than just fashion; her creations are a true means of artistic expression. Since the beginning of her career, she has exhibited her masterpieces in art galleries and museums, using them as an important tool for communication and market penetration.

An elegant and fun summer.

Palmas

The firm was born in 1989, as a creation studio, under the name of Pedro Palmas, covering women’s ready-to-wear, bridal and haute couture. Later, the corporate uniform department emerged (creation of uniforms for companies), as well as its line of swimwear for women and men, and the launch of its first feminine “eau de parfum” “PALMAS”

Creations of eternal and feminine lines, with the adherence of architecture to his designs, which mark the designer’s visionary and creative journey in the world of fashion.

Diazar

The SIWA swimwear collection showcases Diazar’s swimwear proposal for the new season. This versatile collection includes strictly feminine and masculine swimwear, as well as a range of gender-neutral accessories and complementary items designed to convey messages of sustainability and commitment to craftsmanship. The initial collection consists of 12 looks, with 8 for women and 4 for men. The collection can expand if our participation in Swim Week by Moda Cálida 2024 is confirmed.

La Isla Bonita

Isla Bonita Moda is a platform that promotes creative talent and artisanal fashion on the island of La Palma through Sodepal – the Society for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Insular Council of La Palma – highlighting the unique character and cultural identity of the island environment. In this line, a new project emerges as a result of the creative synergy between five local brands in the program – Rayco Plata, Julia Brito, Shamelu, Sara Luis Joyas, and Ban – who have joined forces to bring the “Bonita” collection to life.

This collection aims to highlight nature, focusing on the flora and fauna of La Palma, integrating the richness of the natural environment of “the beautiful island” into its designs. Additionally, the project includes the collaboration of La Palma Artesanía, which brings an artisanal and sustainable dimension that further enriches this creative proposal. “Bonita” is a tribute to the island, where fashion and nature come together in a unique artistic expression.

The great opportunity to participate in the prestigious Swim Week by Gran Canaria Moda Cálida runway is an honor for us. Being part of this prominent international event, where we have the privilege of presenting our swimwear collection inspired by the refreshing and unique essence of La Palma, is an achievement that promotes our local talent and creativity, allowing us to share our vision with the world.

Aurelia Gil

With a degree in arts and crafts and specializing in fashion design, Aurelia Gil has been leading a women’s prêt-à-porter brand for over 20 years, offering exquisite garments in every sense.

From the beginning, her efforts have focused on the revival of craftsmanship, with a special emphasis on the artisanal part of the process.

Her workshop, located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is home to the creation of her collections as well as custom designs, and she has also had her own swimwear workshop.

Aurelia leads a team, like a small family, composed entirely of women.

Tradition. Passion. Innovation.

The imagery for this new 2025 season focuses on recapturing the childhood vision of the world around us through looks that represent “the perfect large ice cream cone.” THE DESSERT welcomes the colorful classic flavors of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and pistachio; the surprising blue, chestnut tones, and the scent of lavender…
This collection brings back color mixing but in a very balanced way, and in swimwear, it plays with the combination of smooth and wide ribbed fabrics. THE DESSERT is also complemented by light pieces such as kimonos, sarongs, flowing pants, and plays with volumes in fabrics like linen and embroidered cotton. Stripes in recycled jacquard will also be another key feature.
