Presidents Obama and Putin both wear Canali—but not quite like this. Under the creative direction of Andrea Pompilio, Canali continues to use the language of fashion as a gentle exploration of the boundaries of the sartorial.

The September issue of GQ Russia puts the spotlight on the main color of the upcoming fall/winter season with this fashion editorial, lensed by photographer Richard Phibbs. Styled by the magazine’s Ekaterina Melnikova, models Tommy Marr, Caspar Peteus, Geoffroy Jonckheere and Alex Pierce embrace a sophisticated winter wardrobe that finds in different gray nuances its main theme.

For a menswear brand like Canali, where excellence in fabrics, tailoring, and attention to details are at the core of their business, a runway show can be problematic. The nature of this sort of staging makes all those elements that much harder to appreciate.
